Boing! At The Unicorn Theatre

Boing Unicorn Theatre

Do whatever you can to nab tickets to the best children's Christmas show in town - it's selling out fast. Boing! from Travelling Light is an hour-long dance and physical theatre extravaganza, focusing on two boys who are too excited to sleep the night before Christmas. The bed is a trampoline, the 'boys' are dancers Wilkie Branson and Joel Daniel, and the stage is their playground to be (glow in the dark) robots, have an extreme pillow fight, and constantly check their stockings to see if Santa has been. I've actually seen this production a few years ago at Sadler's Wells Theatre and I'm so impressed that the company have kept this going, not losing an ounce of their passion and enthusiasm - it makes you exhausted just watching it. I took my two-year old niece, and she started getting a bid fidgety around the half-way mark, but the fast pace of the action kept her interested. There were some slightly older children in a school group while we were there, I'm guessing aged about four or five, and they were roaring with laughter all the way through. This is the perfect Christmas treat for younger kids, and it's brilliant for entertaining grown-ups too.

Boing! is on at The Unicorn Theatre until 31st December, with very limited ability. My tickets were complimentary.
