Urban Decay sent me a few pieces from their summer 2016 range, which is all about 'naked' glowing skin. It can be bloody hard to look flawless in the face department once the weather hots up (I've ruined whole makeup looks within half an hour of leaving my house in the morning and stepping on to the hell that is the London Underground in summer), so thank gawd Urban Decay are making it all about the easy to apply and maintain fresh face. The Naked Skin One And Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector is a lightweight tinted moisturiser to help skin breath whilst giving you silky coverage. The one they sent me is a couple of a shades darker than my pale skin can handle, but after hearing good things about it I'm keen to get my hands on the lightest shade.
I initially thought the Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in Fireball would be too dark for me as well, it looks more like a bronzer in the pan. It's actually a really pretty pink highlighter than blends out into a delicate iridescent frost on the cheekbones with a hint of pink, or you can build it up to use a blush topper. In the pic above I've swatched it, and shown it blended below, it's actually great for adding a warm glow to pale skin. I'm a huge fan of the Afterglow 8-hour blushes (tried one here), they really are long lasting, and pigmented like a dream. These highlighters come in three shades, and I can't wait to try the other two now.
Urban Decay eyeliner pencils are my favourite, they're so creamy! I was intrigued to try the 24/7 Waterliner in Walk Of Shame, a nude colour for the water line to create an open-eyed wide awake look without doing it in a blindingly obvious way with white eyeliner. It goes on like a dream, and takes some getting used to, but definitely makes my eyes appear bigger, covering any early morning redness. Perfect for when you're trying to look all fresh and flawless. Have a look at the full summer range here, there's some really exciting bits, with cute packaging! Another great Urban Decay collection.
